Continuous Integration Engineer / Release Engineer – Java

Join our dynamic Search Technology team and help shape trivago’s technical future. We want someone who can reduce release times, automate integration and acceptance tests, and facilitate continuous delivery.

Your responsibilities:

  • Working with our Search Technology team to ensure a healthy pipeline for our Java-based components by automating the process of building, testing and deploying the tools used. You will be given the freedom to determine how to build this release pipeline.
  • Developing and maintaining automated tests designed to measure code quality.
  • Developing and maintaining environments for acceptance and integration tests.
  • Maintaining an artifact repository.
  • Monitoring the release process of Java-based components and communicating with members of different departments to make sure that they are aware of its current status.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 2-3 years’ experience working with shell scripting and has a solid knowledge of scripting languages.
  • Has previous experience working with open source Java technologies (not JEE).
  • Has an excellent understanding of build automation tools, e.g. Maven or Gradle. Experience in release engineering/delivery would be a huge plus.
  • Has a creative mind which thrives in an innovative environment.
  • Wants to work in a dynamic international team where communication and collaboration are the keys to success.
  • Can speak English fluently.
  • Holds a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Can start as soon as possible.
